Pa Chelaki, the name of our Bush Doctor and the ancient healing practices that have sustained the health and wellbeing of Kokoberrin people for countless generations. Before Ma Pinjénvng (traditional healing) can begin, the body is carefully nurtured through warmth, chant, medicinal plants, and ironwood smoke to create balance between body, mind, spirit, and Country.
At the centre of the composition stands the healing tree, representing the source of medicine and the living knowledge. The outstretched hands signify the transfer of healing, while the surrounding figures and symbols acknowledge the relationships between the healer, the patient, ancestral knowledge.
This knowledge system known as Ngalth Paany Wudar, good health continues to nourish its people today.
